Re: “NLRB to Columbia College: Take this pledge

Wow- this Morrison character certainly has issues! And he knows more than the NLRB and the ALJ who wrote the decision?!?! Obviously, his superior analytical AND legal skills are being wasted teaching Photography. It's clear he has a problem with Vallera; this was evident when he sent an email criticizing her to the entire Columbia College - well over a thousand people - back in December 2011. He made grotesquely inaccurate disparaging remarks about the union president and then was rewarded with many classes. But when the NLRB sees a discrimination charge per the exact language of the National Labor Relations Act, Morrison is able to declare this as "BULLSHIT"? Of course, Morrison is free to be a management bootlicker; no one can deny him that right. But to make these continued personal attacks against Vallera is, in my opinion (as he always says to try to keep himself of the legal hook) a serious cry for help from a rather sick-minded individual.

Re: “White Sox fans take lead in stupidity

"Clearly Sox fan are stupider"? Surely you made a grammatical error on purpose as part of your tongue-in-cheek statement. So for Cubs fans to flock in droves to see the second worst team in all baseball, that makes them smarter? The higher attendance at Wrigley lately only proves the point that Cubs fans are NOT there for the baseball. There may be fewer people at Sox games, but at least they're ACTUALLY WATCHING THE GAME. Ask anybody entering Wrigley who's pitching that day and see how many can answer the question. Then try the same over at US Cellular. Then you can talk about who's smarter.

Re: “The 7 percent solution

Too bad this article didn't have a little more input from the most important people in City Colleges- the students. That would have provided a nice balance to all the corporate-speak about how noble this "reinvention" is supposed to be. The public needs to hear about how students have been affected- by larger class sizes, by necessary classes that were cancelled thus preventing graduation or certificate completion, by not being able to have their families attend the central graduation or by being told they could not re-register for the developmental classes they need. Also, it failed to mention how Hyman has undone all the de-centralization of City Colleges that Harold Washington pushed for to give the individual campuses control over the schools' budgets. Now ALL funds go directly to Central Office where entire layers of six-figure administrators get paid to do who-knows-what while the campuses scramble to function with little or no resources. Reinvention? More like setting the clock back decades to when knowing somebody (or being in her sorority) will land you a sweet no-work job. Meanwhile the programs on campus gradually wither and die from lack of resources.
Now let's all sit back and watch the PR hacks make their comments in response....
