Re: “Ameya Pawar, 47th Ward

I've been trying to get in touch with the ward office for a few days and there is no website set up (at least that I can find and I've tried quite a bit). I called the old ward office and got a message to call 773-809-5744 to reach the new alderman's office. When I called there, I got a recording that said it was the number for the "Friends of Ameya Pawar" and anyone desiring ward business should not leave a message as it would not be picked up. What???

It offered another number to call which has been busy, with no voicemail. Okay, he's new, but this is pretty basic stuff. I should not need a private investigator to find my alderman. Get a friggin' Yahoo domain name and single page with basic info and a phone with voicemail. I've got that and I don't have people needing services.

I'm going to keep trying, but this is a pretty amateur start. No one, including me, expects him to outdo Schulter in a week. Gene had decades to do that. But I hope he gets the basic stuff together quick so he can focus on the main issues we elected him to do. That basic stuff is what voters remember when they walk into voting booths, unfortunately.
