Re: “Surrogate of insanely rich neighborhood developer casts it as savior in dumb article

Who knew this area wasn't doing so hot after years of being represented by Toni Preckwinkle and Barack Obama? Do you think they might have been participating in Tony Rezko and Valerie Jarret's real estate schemes rather than representing their own consituents?

Re: “Governor Quinn brings Diane Ravitch to Chicago

Diane Ravitch, Governor Patrick Quinn, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Karen Lewis, Chicago Teachers Union.....And what do all of the above have in common? They are all Democrats and own the disaster which is government sponsored primary and secondary education in Chicago.

Re: “Trust vote: back to normal for the City Council

Well what do you think the authoritarian Left does? They take money from everyone and give it to their friends. Then they want the individual businessperson to pay them to quit taking so much.

Didn't we have an indication of this from Emanuel's disastrous term as Obama's Chief of Staff?

Re: “What's the matter with Chicago?

I find it distressing that despite a long history of awful results from government run schools, anyone as smart and experienced as Ben would have even the slightest objection to some sort of education reform. How many generations are we going to waste to satisfy the Party?

Re: “Charles Percy, UNO, and the ever-shifting political winds

Since Percy grew up in Rogers Park, I don't think you would shock him all that much with routines "developed on the streets of Uptown"; they had probably made their way north sometime ago.

Re: “Charles Percy, UNO, and the ever-shifting political winds

Trying to figure out if it is supposed to be favorable to advocate for a money laundering operation that funded gangsterism. It turns out Sen. Mundt was quite right, and Sen Percy was wrong in sending money to support criminals in their criminality.

Of all the good things about Sen. Percy, I don' think supporting the Blackstone Rangers was one of them...

Re: “So what exactly is police superintendent McCarthy's position on gun control?

You may want to ask yourself what good it does to have a Police official pandering to his supposed audience during a Mass. McCarthy comes across like a clown, and insults not only his political opponents, but also the great majority of people who would like to keep politics out of religion and vice-versa. His performance, like Fr. Pfleger so many of Fr. Pfleger's guests is a disgrace to the City, the Church and the Community at large. He should resign.
