Re: “Nevermind already

Garry, I do a local music column every week in both the Reader and the Tribune--how much more do you think I should be doing?

Re: “Nevermind already

I loved Nirvana, from Bleach on. My disgust is with the continual post-mortem shake down of fans by the folks with a piece of legacy to sell.

Re: “Gossip Wolf: DeRo's Sour Note

SRSLY. Gossip Wolf is always such a bummer with all the news of bands recording records and cassette labels forming and people getting married. Just burying the scene in grim news and loathing.

Re: “Gossip Wolf: Music From the Third Dimension

We fully disclosed Miles' relationship to the Reader and it's not like we are putting Mannequin Men in the column for no reason, they aren't total unknowns. I think the fact that most of the Reader writers play music themselves, or are otherwise active in the music scene is what makes the paper's music coverage especially insightful.

Re: “Through Paying Dues

For the record, I don't write the headlines. Secondly, interviews don't have to talk about the band's music exclusively--personally, I am rarely interested into talking to musicians about making their records because they go into default answers and it usually gets boring pretty quickly. I think it's truly strange that people are insisting I have something against this band or am out to get them or even that I don't like them--if that was the case I would have mentioned that in the intro. This is just a conversation that we had about their ideas and their career, which is relevant given that they are an ambitious band in a scene/city that frowns on bands wanting to move beyond their station. Despite them being young, they are big boys and I certainly didn't put words in their mouths here.
