Re: “Jam Productions slams the door on contract negotiations with unionized Riviera Theatre stagehands

Are there any asks of the concert-going public? What can we do to support the union's efforts?

Re: “There goes the Englewood neighborhood

Where's Cochran on this? Englewood long has had the problem of being carved into multiple wards so no one Alderman takes ownership of the community- but this is Cochran's ward- he had to know about it in order for both the project and the TIF expansions to move, right?

Re: “Palling around with occupiers

Of course, Lyndon Johnson aside, MLK did support Labor Unions.

Re: “The grass gap

Thanks for this article, it's such an obvious racial discrepancy (between who uses and who's arrested) we can't continue to ignore it, as well as others race-based policies in the pursuit of "criminals," from traffic stops to minor drug possession. The costs associated with housing non-violent, petty offenders is ridiculous; if we were serious about fiscal responsibility, we should follow Preckwinkle's lead. Also, it's well known that "broken windows" is a strategy that pits residents against cops and exacerbates already existing hostilities and mistrust. Time to change policy.

Re: “More Ridiculousness on City Recycling

I live in a multi-unit building and didn't even know about that ordinance, but honestly I'm happy to drop off my recycling vs. having the cost of my property management hiring a private company to pick it up added to my rent. I wish, however, that there would be drop off locations at EVERY sizable city park... why can't I drop off at Independence Park or Humboldt Park or Garfield Park? It'd also spread it out more so the bins wouldn't get so full (although I really only have an issue at Horner Park or Mozart Park, where I often go, after a big holiday aka New Years or 4th of July).
For the record, I've been to the North Branch computer recycling center... and was told I should donate to the Computers for Schools program on the NW Side instead of leaving my stuff there. I'm sure I'm not the only one who got pointed in that direction from the folks there.

Re: “Just Opened: Rockin' Taco

Obviously they learned "authentic" Mexican cuisine from Potbelly's and TGI Fridays. I'm going to have to stage a boycott...

Re: “Don't (Just) Blame the Voters

I agree to some extent that the Hynes/Quinn ugliness turned some people off from this primary, plus confusion as to what some of these officials running even do (ask an average voter the difference between Treasurer and Comptroller).
