We had dinner at Tallulah last night and it was fantastic! The service, back patio and most importantly, the food, was outstanding. I really can't believe that folks aren't raving about this restaurant- it was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. I had a beet and spinach salad with walnuts that was delicious, followed by the corn risotto- so good! My husband had a first course of escargot with asparagus, goat cheese, pancetta and lemon gnocchi- a knock out combination! His peppercorn crusted steak was addictive. We asked for wine pairings (by the glass) and they were spot on. An overall wonderful experience. Highly recommend for a great meal!

Re: “Bistro Campagne

What a lovely dinner! I really love this restaurant- the food, the atmosphere, the staff, the wine, the dessert, even the coffee is fantastic!

We ordered the duck and the roasted chicken, and both were outstanding. The seasoning of the duck and the sauce were incredibly tasty- the flavors awaken the senses. The chicken was so delicious, and the mushroom sauce is creamy and a perfect match with the chicken and skinny onion rings it comes with.

We shared a lemon tart- a perfect, refreshing ending to an outstanding meal- for dessert, and I have been thinking about it ever since.

We sat in a small section of the restaurant with 4 or 5 tables, and it was so cozy and intimate. The tables are a little close, but you hardly notice because of the food and the good conversations it encourages. Plus, the rustic European feel of the rooms creates this warm ambience- a truly wonderful experience.

I highly recommend this restaurant to couples and friends who want to relax and have great wine and fantastic food.

Re: “Thai Room

This storefront Thai restaurant is our regular stand-by for take-out and dine-in. The pad thai with chicken and the pad kei mow are both tasty and served with fresh ingredients, piping hot. The cucumber salad is a refreshing starter- better than other Thai restaurants. The vegetarian egg rolls are good, and the crab rangoon is a favorite.

You can't go wrong at Thai Room for the flavors, service and price!

Pizza D.O.C. was a great, not too expensive, friendly, laid-back place.

Three of us had pasta and one pizza. I would not recommend the risotto, but the rigatoni was excellent. The prices are reasonable, and the vibe in the restaurant is great. Families, couples, big groups- everyone fit in.

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a yummy italian meal on the not too pricey side. I will definitely go back.

An earlier reviewer said it best: blah.

I have been begging my hubbie to go to Orange for about 2 years, so I have to keep in mind that my expectations may have been too high.

The wait was 30 minutes- not too bad. I had the pancake flight, which was politically themed and well thought out, however, the flavors just weren't there. My husband had a special, and it was good, too but not great.

When the bill, with tip, came to $46, I was really surprised. The breakfast entrees were $11 a piece, plus two juices at $3, two coffees at $2.50 and a side of bacon...just seems too much for breakfast, doesn't it?

Glad I tried it, though I won't go back. Not terrible, just not enough for the price, crowd, or hype.

Re: “Bistro Campagne

This is our second visit to Bistro Campagne and it was an excellent experience! It is a smallish restaurant so we were not sure if they would be able to seat us without a reservation, but it was early- 6:30- and we lucked out.

They have an outside patio that has been enclosed and heated, and a fireplace that adds more cozy than heat. We didn't mind the outside winter seating, although if we had had a reservation I might have been less enthusiastic.

We ordered a bottle of champagne from Alsace which was great before and during dinner. The escargot was a hit with my husband, and the french onion soup warmed my bones just right. My roasted chicken with onion rings in a mushroom cream sauce was the perfect comfort food in January, and the duck my husband ordered had a great balance of flavors. The side carrots and onions were also fabulous- who knew one could be excited about carrots!

The chocolate Soufflé was just the right portion- I would highly recommend it- and even the coffee was great. Our waitress couldn't have been a better host.

Overall this is a top-notch restaurant for seasoned French lovin' foodies and for those who just want to have a really good meal. Enjoy!
