The waitstaff is WAY too stalk-like, constantly watching the patrons as they eat. As soon as a fork or knife gets dirty, a man will come up with a new one...only to get dirty again within less than 30 seconds. Very annoying. The wine list was great. We had a bottle of Hess Cabernet for $45, wonderful! The soup was gritty, ugh. The duck rolls were good, but they could do without the sticks springing up from it, almost poking out my eye. The venison was wonderful, but the plate it was on was completely unnecessary. It was triangular, and if they want to be "hip" they should take a course in feng shui. The points of the plate direct a painful energy, and also, the sauces that were on the plate kept making their way to the edge of the plate, and I kept taking my fork and pushing it back. Is this supposed to be fun or work? My fiance's entree was horribly presented. A piece of salmon spinning (literally) atop a piece of slightly grilled apple. Atop of that were hash browns and alfalfa that was too difficult to consume. If what they were going for was a balanced diet, they missed the dairy out of the pyramid. Also, my FIRST dessert, this berry cobbler type thing (which was recommended by other restaurant reviews) was horrible. I was just going to eat it because that was the choice I made, but when the waiter asked me how it was I just couldn't stomach a lie. He was sooooo shocked and stood frozen for a moment, took it away and gave me the "chocolate log" as I have dubbed it. Which was much better. You can't screw up chocolate. Anyway, as my fiance and I walked out, my fiance noted that the entire waitstaff watched me leave. Boy-oh-boy, can't take honesty can we? Actually, I hardly ever complain about food, ESPECIALLY dessert, but this was suprisingly bad. I wanted to like it, really, I did.

The best darn pad thai I have EVER eaten. Nothing, I mean nothing, compares to this place's pad thai. The curries are great, the thai iced is fab. The staff are sweet and very quick (but occassionally they forget the drinks). This place is comfy and big. The prices are the same as all the other cheapie thai joints. Go here, you'll like it.

Great and different Thai joint. They serve the thai iced tea in a ceramic, green pepper shaped container with these small, perfectly square ice cubes. I love it! Their sauce for the shu mai is the BEST I have ever had in the city. They have a great chicken entree, that is just chicken wrapped in these leaves served on this pedestal plate, so wonderful(I have never seen it in any other thai place in chicago)! This place is low key and cheap! We spent $65 on four people (WITH alcohol)! It is VERY small, but hardly anyone in there, so it is conversation friendly. There is also some tables outside in the summer, which is great on that strip of Southport Ave. The staff is really sweet and the waiter was laughing at a joke one of us spouted out saying, "that was funny."
