My husband and I arrived at around 8:00 on Saturday evening. We were quoted a 30-35 minute wait, so we waited at the bar. The wait was actually less than we were quoted (about 20 minutes).

Upon sitting down at the table, I noticed that the prices on the drink menu at the table are cheaper than those at the bar. So, we had just paid three dollars more for drinks at the bar than we would have if we'd ordered them at the table. In my opinion, that's a crappy thing to do to your patrons.

The menu had a couple vegetarian options, nothing particularly innovative, but sometimes basic is good. I ordered the trinity with the spinach salad, veggie pasta, and key lime pie. I also ordered a glass of wine.

The salad was good. It didn't wow me, but it was tasty. My wine, however, was forgotten, and I had to ask for it again. I had already finished my salad by the time it came.

My entree was OK. Not bad, but nothing special. The key lime pie was outstanding (and I'm a tough critic for key lime pie).

All in all, it was an OK experience. I was put off by the price differential between the drink at the bar and at the table. Between that and my lackluster entree, I'm not sure if I'll go here again. I wouldn't rule it out, but I wouldn't rush back either.

Green Zebra remains one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. Because of the price, it's certainly a place we don't visit frequently, but when we do, it's worth every penny.

We had reservations for 8:30, and though we arrived about 15 minutes early, we were seated right away. To start, I had the artichoke salad, and my husband had the apple soup, both of which were delicious. For the second course, I had the chickpea cake, and my husband had the sunchoke ravioli--both were superb. My third course was the only thing that wasn't outstanding. I had the parmesan caraway gnocchi, which was fine, but just not up to par with the rest of the meal. I expected it to be a bit more flavorful. Dessert was a citrus trifle. Still, just thinking about it makes my mouth water.

Eye appeal of every course was outstanding, and service was impeccable.

Enjoyable experience here. The salsa to start was a bit thin for my taste, but was good nonetheless. The pumpkin enchiladas were quite good! Service was competent and friendly. We'll be back.

This was my first visit to North Pond, and I must say that it was outstanding. The service was excellent, and the attention to detail was amazing. My husband brought me here for my birthday. It was not long before a staff member wished me a happy birthday, and handed me a menu with "Happy Birthday" atop of it.

The selection for vegetarians here is not huge, but there was at least one vegetartian option available for each course. I started with the lettuce and pear salad, which was delicious. For my main dish, I had the mushrooms and grains (grilled hen of the woods mushrooms, farro cake, and greens)--also wonderful. For dessert, I had the cranberry and pecan parfaits, which were scrumptious. The presentation was outstanding. From start to finish, it was a very enjoyable meal.

We arrived at Sangria at 5:30 on a Saturday so we would have plenty of time to dine and still get over to Steppenwolf for a show. The restaurant was practically empty when we arrived...and freezing cold. The two of us were seated next to each other in a giant half circle booth that could seat 5 people. I guess they figured it would be nice to give us a lot of room, but it actually did seem absurdly roomy. We started with half pitcher of the champagne sangria, which was good at first, but then we discovered it had not been mixed well, and it was all sticky sweet at the bottom--the last glass being completely different from the first.

I was disappointed with the tiny selection of vegetarian tapas on their menu, but they do offer vegetable paella, so I was able to find enough. The food was good enough, and the presentation was lovely. The service was slow and inattentive, though. At times, the servers and bus people seemed a bit put out that we were making them work. The ceiling started to drip on us near the end of our meal.

With plenty of tapas places in the city that are much better, we will not be back here.

Andies leaves a little to be desired in the ambience department, but it's still one of my favorite places to eat. The pita they give you to munch on before dinner is always warm, fresh, and delicious. The menu is loaded with vegetarian choices--so many that I often have trouble choosing! But I've never had anything there I didn't enjoy tremendously. The portions are very large, and the food is so good, I'm always tempted to keep eating and eating, but I usually take about half my meal home.
