Re: “Japonais

Awsome attentive service, we showed up early (our reservation was at 8, and we were there half an hour before that) and we went down to the lounge. Very friendly bartender, great variety of cocktails. Then the hostess came to find us at the bar, we were seated right at 8. Friendly, maybe a little snobby waiter, but very kind, attentive, and efficient. All dishes were accompanied by a brief explanation. We had our plates changed everytime we received a different appetizer. The waiter even folded my wife's napkin when she went to the restroom. We were not rushed at all and had plenty of time after our meal to relax and have a digestif. Highly recommended, expensive but well worth it. The ambience is extraordinary, very chic. The terrace was also open, facing the river, which made the scene even better.
You definitely have to check it out!

Re: “Morton's the Steakhouse

Quite disapointing...
We have always liked Morton's for special occasions. This time however, our waiter did not deliver, and neither did the kitchen. Our food took a long time to arrive (probably over 45 min). The table next to us had their food before us, considering they arrived and ordered 30 min later. Our waiter, having noticed that he completely forgot about us, probably rushed to the kitchen and got for us whatever they had. We ordered our steaks medium, but we got them completely cooked and dry. We also ordered the grilled mushrooms to share, and they were greasy and tateless - don't order them. The lyonnaisse potatoes were almost burned to a crisp. Our waiter was nowhere to be found for us to complain. He did not thank us after we paid our check, and neither did he say goodbye when we left. Terrible service! Morton's really needs to improve supervision, otherwise they risk losing their business to pretty good alternatives in town. Just read the other reviews...

Re: “El Nuevo Mexicano

Nice little restaurant in a hip neighborhood.
Typical Mexican but perhaps a little overdecorated.
Servers very firendly and attentive.
You get some chips and salsa while you look at the menu and all entrees include a side salad. They have daily specials that are reasonably priced. I've got chicken with mole that had perhaps too little rice on the side and did not inlcude refried beans. The mole was very good, the chicken could have been better but it was ok.
The tables are nicely decorated, the music was ok but could have been less loud and more varied.
Overall a pleasant experience and the location is perfect.
Would recommend it.

Re: “Bistro 110

While the atmosphere and the overall quality is OK, the service is terrible! Food took a long time to be served, appetizers came half-way through the entrees, food was cold (including soup) and the waiter was not attentive at all to our requests (like hot sauce or no ice in water). Coffee wasn't hot either. Desserts are OK. There was no captain or supervisor that could be addressed for these matters. Plates were left on our table long after we were done, even as dessert was about to be served.
Don't expect authentic French cuisine as such, it is very americanized.
The table was unstable and we were worried our drinks were going to fall off.
It's a shame for a pretty nice locale and a great location.
Would not recommend it.
