Civil rights activist Hamer, embodied by Chicago legend E. Faye Butler, tours Chicago parks in this 40-minute adaptation of Cheryl L. West's play, directed for the Goodman by Henry Godinez. Musician and arranger Felton Offard provides spirituals such as “I Ain’t Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me ‘Round,” “We Shall Not Be Moved,” and “I’m on My Way to Freedom." The League of Women Voters and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. provides on-site pre-show voting assistance for attendees at each location.
