Artistic director Pranita Nayar uses Rumi’s forlorn description of lovers ("tahwid"), who are unable to experience transcendental “oneness” due to physical and emotional distance. The piece also evokes Persian calligraphy in the movement vocabulary, and is accompanied by a digital animation created by Aadit Arora, with an original score by Sufi composer Niloufar Nourbaksh.
