Here are some of our recommended events for the week of 4/2-4/5:

Mon 4/2-Wed 4/4: The Reader's Leor Galil writes, "Chicago’s Malcolm London juggles more roles at once than some people can list on their entire resumés: he’s a poet, activist, rapper, and educator. How does he do it? 'I’ve come to the conclusion that I have to be my whole self at all times,' he told the website DJ Booth in January. That mind-set is part of London’s appeal, and part of what makes him great as as an artist and performer; he can move an entire crowd while connecting with every single audience member on an individual level."

Mon 4/2: Lauded stand-ups Taneshia "Just Nesh" Rice and Marilee Williams host the Manic Mondays weekly showcase—one of the few on the south side.

Tue 4/3: Wes Anderson's latest film, Isle of Dogs, was lauded by the Reader's J.R. Jones. "The director and his hip writing partners (Jason Schwartzman, Roman Coppola, Kunichi Nomura) infuse their imaginary world with winning deadpan humor," he writes.

Tue 4/3: "No matter where [António] Zambujo finds musical inspiration, the lilt of his phrasing, clarity of his voice, and emotional heft of his measured delivery retain clear connections to fado," writes the Reader's Peter Margasak.

Wed 4/4: Women & Children first host a release party for My Lady’s Choosing: An Interactive Romance Novel. The Reader's Aimee Levitt writes, of the book, "[it provides] a seemingly infinite number of paths to your happy ending—which, not incidentally, travel through every landscape in the historical-romance world: a London ballroom, a gothic manor on the Yorkshire moors, the Egyptian desert, and, naturally, Scotland."

Wed 4/4: At "Saturday Night Live: the Experience," sets from SNL, including the basement from Wayne's World, are open to tour. Writers like Seth Meyers, via video, explain the show’s weekly process.

Thu 4/5: Check out opening night of the Doc10 Documentary Festival, where Mr. Rogers meets Mexican drug cartels. Our staff recommends Bisbee '17, The Other Side of Everything, and more.
