There are plenty of events happening this weekend—comedy, dance, and video games. Here's some of what we recommend:

Fri 2/23:
"Typeforce 9" (sounds like a superhero blockbuster) at Co-Prosperity Sphere (3219 S. Morgan) celebrates typographic all-stars and emerging type-based artists using computer-generated visuals, flashing neon lights, music, and cocktails. 6 PM, free

Fri 2/23-Sun 2/25:

Watch an unlikely friendship blossom between a neglected schoolboy and a cantankerous lunch lady in Redtwist Theatre's (1044 W. Bryn Mawr) Surely Goodness and Mercy, which The Reader's Dan Jakes calls "satisfying, uplifting . . . and emotionally punchy." Thu-Sat 7:30 PM, Sun 3 PM, $35-$40

Sat 2/24: Chicago improv veteran Patricia Musker brings her alter ego to life at this part cabaret, part comedy show Roxy Bellows Plays the Den (1331 N. Milwaukee). 7:30 PM, $10 in advance, $15 at the door

Sat 2/24: RuPaul's Drag Race season six winner Bianca Del Rio (aka Roy Haylock) stood out for her impeccable sewing skills and biting witticism (she's also behind the iconic line, "Not today, Satan, not today"). For one night only, she's bringing her theatrics and sharp tongue to her Blame It on Bianca standup show at The Vic (3145 N. Sheffield). 8 and 10:30 PM, $39.50

Sat 2/24: Hoover-Leppen Theatre (3656 N. Halsted St) hosts LA-based movement artist Andrew Pearson's dance-theater show This is a Blank Page. A Story, in Motion, about "the pursuit of happiness, as seen through the eyes of a gay millennial." 7 PM, $20

Sun 2/25: Bring your whole family to The Promontory (5311 S. Lake Park) for 2018's first taping of the long-running public access show-slash-dance party Chic-A-Go-Go and boogie with host Mia Park and her puppet pal Ratso. Noon-2 PM, free

Sun 2/25: New Player Has Entered the Show takes place at Under the Gun Theater (956 W. Newport), but watching four stand-up comics shit-talking over a game of Super Smash Bros will make you feel like you're hanging out in your childhood living room, controller in hand. 8 PM, $10
