John Waters asks goofy questions about Christmas at Thalia Hall on Monday 11/27.
There's plenty to do in Chicago after the holiday weekend. Here's some of what we recommend:
Mon 11/27: Filmmaker, author, and pencil-mustache enthusiast
John Waters rants about Christmas and asks tough questions such as "Has Santa ever been nude?" during A John Waters Christmas at Thalia Hall (1807 S. Allport).
9 PM, $35-$42
Mon 11/27: Lauded comedians Taneshia "Just Nesh" Rice and Marilee Williams host the weekly stand-up showcase
Manic Mondays—one of the few on the south side—at Frances Cocktail Lounge (307 E. 75th)
9 PM, $5
Tue 11/28: Promontory chef Bernard Bennett teams up with sommelier Derrick Westbrook of 57th Street Wines for a four-course prix fixe meal with the theme Beaujolais and Harvest. The dinner, part of
the Hyde Park Wine Society series of events, takes place at Promontory (5311 S. Lake Park).
7 PM, sold out
Tue 11/28: In
Sacrilege: A Nativity Story at the Annoyance Theatre (851 W. Belmont), the history of Christmas is told from the perspective of Mary Magdalene—on her way to Bethlehem while tailed by malevolent forces.

8 PM, $40
Wed 11/29-Sat 12/2: From the folks who brought us the Upside Down, a S
tranger Things-themed pop-up, comes a new concept that will tear you apart, Lisa. For
