  • Detective Dante Servin resigns from Chicago Police Department

Chicago police detective Dante Servin was found not guilty of involuntary manslaughter after fatally shooting 22-year-old Rekia Boyd in 2012. Former police superintendent Garry McCarthy recommended that the force fire Servin in late 2015, but Servin has resigned just two days before his police board hearing was set to begin.   • Bruce Rauner throws his support behind Lucas Museum

This should make Mayor Rahm Emanuel happy: Governor Bruce Rauner has expressed support for the embattled Lucas Museum. He'd like to see it built in the first planned location between Soldier Field and McCormick Place. "I think it's a wonderful opportunity for the people of Illinois to grow our economy and grow tourism," he said at a press conference Monday. [NBC Chicago]

  • Viral video shows huge fight on the near west side

A disturbing video of a fight involving around 60 people near Jackson and Western is making the rounds on social media. The fight was a gang "turf war," and a police squad car was nearby as the fight unfolded, according to a witness, the owner of a store close to the brawl. Still, one neighbor told DNAinfo, "I've seen worse than that outside of my window." [DNAinfo Chicago]

  • Chicago Department of Aviation: Passengers should arrive three hours before flight

The insane two-plus-hour security lines at O'Hare and Midway airports have made national news this week. Now the city's Department of Aviation is recommending that passengers arrive at the airport three hours before their flight. The Transportation Security Administration has been understaffed and is working on hiring 800 new officers to make the lines move more quickly. [CBS News]
