Fri 3/11: Hedwig Dances benefit gala Hedwignites features a cocktail reception at the Arts Club of Chicago (201 E. Ontario), dinner, a performance of the dance company's latest work, and salsa lessons from company members Edson Cabrera and Jessie Gutierrez. 6-10 PM

Fri 3/11: A special primary-election edition of friend of the Reader Brian Costello's talk show at the Hideout (1354 W. Wabansia), The Brian Costello Show with Brian Costello, featuring two Bernie Sanders supporters and two Hillary Clinton supporters. 6:30 PM

3/11-3/12:
Second Glass hosts Wine Riot Chicago, a wine tasting featuring more than 250 kinds of vino from all across the world. The weekend at Venue One (1044 W. Randolph) includes wine education sessions, DJs, a photo booth, and food from Luke's Lobster, Tamale Spaceship, the Slide Ride, and Sugar Bliss Cake Boutique. Fri 7-11 PM, Sat 1-5 PM and 7-11 PM

3/12-3/20: Stop to smell the roses at the Chicago Flower and Garden Show at Navy Pier (600 E. Grand), and check out live gardening demonstrations, workshops, and a cake decorating competition. Sun-Thu 10 AM-6 PM, Fri-Sat 10 AM-8 PM

Sat 3/12: Rachal Duggan (RADillustrates) hosts Spirit Guide Illustration at Comfort Station (2579 N. Milwaukee) where she draws custom portraits of something paranormal, a spirit animal, or a butt for anyone who stops by. Noon-3 PM
