A month ago, I reported on local postpunk duo Tinkerbelles, who were gearing up to play 40 shows in ten days as an attempt to make it into The Guinness Book of World Records. The band is currently on that tour, and as of right now are on track to hit their goal. Their homecoming is this Sunday, June 28, and they have four shows lined up in town to close out their run: an early show at an undisclosed DIY space, 4 PM at Saki, 6 PM at East Room, and a final bash that night at Mutiny. Added bonus: all shows are free. Make sure the catch the ragged and road-worn boys as they come home, hopefully with the Guinness title in their mitts. If you want to know more about the band, look no further than today's 12 O'Clock Track, "Rotten Tanx" off of last year's Fine Asses EP. It does a good job of summing up this excellent band's sound: its one minute and 50 seconds are crammed with pummeling drums and layers of fun, bouncy, beyond-catchy melodies and hooks. "Rotten Tanx" is one of those tunes that keeps you reaching for the replay button. Check it out below.
