Hank Williams: Lost Highway

Looking for something to do today? Agenda's got you covered.

The American Blues Theater is wrapping up its run of Hank Williams: Lost Highway. Starring Matthew Brumlow as 1950s country singer-songwriter Hank Williams, the musical biopic chronicles Williams's turbulent personal and professional lives and features classic tunes like "Your Cheatin' Heart," "Long Gone Lonesome Blues," and "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry." "Under the guidance of director Damon Kiely and musical director Malcolm Ruhl, Brumlow uncannily re-creates Williams's expressive yodeling style," writes Reader contributor Albert Williams.

"Cargo Space: Chicago/Milwaukee" opens today at Columbia College Chicago's A+D Gallery. Instead of being housed in the gallery, the exhibition is built into a refurbished 27' diesel transit bus that travels to galleries in Chicago and Milwaukee, evolving and engaging with artists and visitors along the way.

Ciao! Festa Italiana kicks off today at the intersection of Taylor and Ashland in Little Italy. Chicago musician Josie Falbo performs at the opening ceremony, while vendors such as La Luce, Conte di Savoia, and Big G's Pizza serve bites of bruschetta and cannoli. The festival's $5 suggested donation benefits the University Village Association.
