Today the weekend-long Chicago Gospel Music Festival kicks off with a collection of gospel’s biggest names performing across the city. Artists include Tye Tribbett, Kevin Lemons & Higher Calling, and Tasha Cobbs.

The Reader is excited to host the Reader B Side Pride Booze Cruise, the first of the B Side Cruise Series of the summer. Today the Reader honors Chicago's LGBTQ community with two trips around the lake. Food is provided by Monti's, beer from Goose Island, and entertainment from Smart Bar includes Shaun J. Wright and Harry & Jpeg.

People are taking to the streets for Old St. Pat's World’s Largest Block Party. This is the 30th edition of the two-day event, hosted at Saint Patrick’s church.
