Thursday 2/13

"Sportin' Waves" at Strange Beauty Show The first day to view an exhibit featuring hand-painted Ghanaian barbershop and salon signage explores the line between art and advertising. Read Noah Berlatsky's write-up here.

Solidarity Between Generations at Arc Gallery Work by Korean feminist artists past and present. Reception 6-9 PM.

Friday 2/14

Ladydrawers: Our Fashion Year and Other Projects at Uri-Eichen Gallery Ladydrawers Comics Collective presents a group show focusing on economics, race, sexuality, and gender. Featured artists include Sarah Jaffe, Delia Jean, Julia Gfrorer, Melissa Mendes, Fran Syass, and Anne Elizabeth Moore. Reception 6-10 PM, features a preview of the Ladydrawers' documentary Comics Undressed.

Saturday 2/15

Mixed Bag at 33 Collective Gallery Last day to see multidisciplinary work by Steve Sherrell, including oil and acrylic work.

Nest at Linda Warren Gallery The last day to view Emmett Kerrigan's acrylic gouache landscapes.

Sunday 2/16

Dreams and Echoes: Drawings and Sculpture in the David and Celia Hilliard Collection at Art Institute of Chicago Your last chance to view an exhibition that spans five centuries of work and includes a combination of more than 100 drawings on paper and small sculptures. Edgar Degas, Henri Matisse, and Jean-Francois Millet are highlighted.
