Nate Wooley
A few days ago results of the annual jazz critics poll conducted by Philadelphia critic Francis Davis were released by NPR Music. The Village Voice originally published the poll, but as that once illustrious New York paper became increasingly unrecognizable, the poll migrated last year to online music retailer Rhapsody. Its new home seems like a good fit. Only one title in the poll's top ten was on my list, but I think most of the choices are deserving. After the jump you can look at the ballot I submitted to Davis.

New albums:
1. Nate Wooley Sextet, (Sit In) The Throne of Friendship (Clean Feed)
2. Fredrik Ljungkvist Yun Kan 10, Ten (Hoob Jazz)
3. Pandelis Karayorgis, Circuitous (Driff)
4. Craig Taborn Trio, Chants (ECM)
5. Joe Lovano Us Five, Cross Culture (Blue Note)
