Street View is a fashion series in which Isa Giallorenzo spotlights some of the coolest styles seen in Chicago.

Chanel once said that elegance is refusal. She also famously advised ladies to look in the mirror and remove one accessory before leaving the house. I agree: you gotta pick your fights and draw attention to what matters most. Now, the problem with too much refusal is that it can become tedious, and who wants to look boring at an art event like the SOFA opening? Certainly not Allison Kramer, a consultant for Seattle's Traver Gallery. She managed to look elegant and fun, composing her look with few but remarkable items, like her bold Marimekko dress, her wooden clutch, her fascinator hat, and, last but not least, her bat-wing bolero. Yes, it was a bat wing—she had bought it at the Field Museum on that same Halloween day. How playful and appropriate!
