Aoife O'Donovan plays Schubas tonight. Peter Margasak calls her recent album, Fossils, "sleek hybrid of bluegrass, traditional old-time music, and modern folk-rock." Kristin Andreassen opens.

Bassist Clark Sommers takes the stage with drummer Dana Hall and reedist Geof Bradfield at Constellation. Margasak calls Sommers "one of Chicago's finest bassists, lending myriad bands an agile but hefty center of gravity and a muscular, propulsive kick."

Rock band Cute Is What We Aim For plays Bottom Lounge. Turnover and Tallhart open.
