Looking for something to do today? Agenda's got you covered:

The Chi-Town Jazz Festival is as much about music as it is about civic love: its proceeds are donated to Chicago-area hunger relief. The six-day fest kicks off tonight with a show at Martyrs' that features the Aaron Koppel Quartet, IndigoSun, and others.

The Harold Washington Library hosts Gerry Souter, an Arlington Heights native, who presents his book American Shooter: A Personal History of Gun Culture in the United States, which "takes a personal look at gun ownership, handgun bans, shooting sports and the controversy over how to interpret the Second Amendment."

All work in the exhibit "By Women/About Women" at Desdimi Gallery Salon is either "by women or about women"—pretty self explanatory.
