Alanna Zaritz (one half of the drawnandcoutured.com duo) put together an outfit that's both modern and chic. Her Rag & Bone dress features a chevronlike print in two scales—different sizes of the same motif are always a good match. The see-through detail on her sleeves makes it modern, while the black-and-white palette makes it chic.

Alanna and I went to see Verdi's Rigoletto, a tragic story about an outcast now showing at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Fascinating. Plus we were surprised to hear a familiar tune, "La donna è mobile." You've probably sung it in the shower too.

See pics of Alanna's look after the jump.

Her ankle booties add and edgy, unpredictable kick to the look. The opera glasses belonged to her grandmother.
