Saturday night at the Portage, the Chicago Cinema Society presents a triple feature of kung fu actioners, including Lau Kar-leung's The 36th Chamber of Shaolin. We also recommend The Fiancee (1980), which concludes the Gene Siskel Film Center's month-long series on East German cinema.

More new reviews: Fallada—The Last Chapter, a biopic on the author of Little Man, What Now?; Fourplay, an episodic comedy by Kyle Henry; The Funny Things You Do, a local video about gas-huffing video auteurs; Future Weather, an indie drama about an abandoned teenager who's a science whiz; The Gatekeepers, featuring interviews with former heads of Israeli security; A Good Day to Die Hard, with Bruce Willis; Happy People: A Year in the Taiga, a documentary about Siberian trappers that was edited and narrated by Werner Herzog; and Versailles '73: American Runway Revolution, the latest fashion doc.
