Is everyone recovered from the Fourth? Recovered from the beer and the being outdoors in 100-degree weather for probably longer than you should have and the brush with death when a huge bank of extremely illegal fireworks at an impromptu neighborhood gathering malfunctioned and started shooting massive exploding green fireballs right at you?

Good! Let's get to Reader-ing!

It's an honor this week to have dancehall legend Yellowman in the pages of the B Side, where he and local dancehall futurist MC Zulu chop it up for an excellent Artist on Artist discussion about, among other things, the continuing effect Yellowman's work has had on dancehall and hip-hop. I swear that this guy—a freaky-looking albino giant who sings constantly about his talents as a lover—is about the most swagged-out person of all time.

Also in this issue, In Rotation brings together Reader digital editor Tal Rosenberg, Pitchfork developer Andrew Gaerig, and Alex "DJ Sparkletone" Goddard to share their current musical obsessions; Gossip Wolf keeps us abreast of current Chief Keef news; and Soundboard recommends shows by El-P and Killer Mike, Black Breath and Burning Love, Fiona Apple, Orchestre Poly-Rythmo de Cotonou, and more. And in case you're in shape to spend more party time outdoors this weekend, we have guides to West Fest and a few other notable festivals going on.
