Gibson's new Jeff Tweedy guitar is cool and I want one

I'm not the hugest Wilco fan, but Jeff Tweedy's a nice guy so I wouldn't be opposed to playing a guitar with his name on the headstock—like for instance the absolutely gorgeous Jeff Tweedy Signature SG that Gibson just announced. Holy shit is this thing beautiful. (Click on the pic to enlarge.) That finish is called "Pelham Blue," and if you look closely at the photo you can see that the tailpiece cover has an old-timey lyre design etched into it, which references design details from the earliest Gibson instruments. It also has a neck with dimensions similar to that of the best guitar I've ever owned, a 1972 SG-style Gibson Melody Maker with extensive customization (and extensive damage) courtesy of Derek Kenney from midwestern hardcore legends Jihad, who hailed from Kalamazoo, Michigan, which is coincidentally where Gibson used to be located.

All of this is a moot point, since I don't have the MSRP of $2,599 just lying around, and guitar companies don't give away promo instruments to music journalists the way labels give away promo CDs—even if the journalist is a really nice person who would love the guitar and take good care of it and change its strings on the regular and never put stupid stickers on it and probably let it sleep in bed next to him. But on the other hand, I'm working on freeing myself from lust for material things, so maybe this could be a learning experience. Then again, I'm probably going to have to cop this ski mask sporting a patch based on Gucci Mane's still-unbelievable face tattoo, because I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to live without it.
