This week in crazytown

A lot of brides work on slimming down before the big day, especially if they’re trying to fit into a dress. But the New York Times's Style section, famous for its coverage of what might be called the "rich white people's problems" beat, has found that some will go so far as to stick a tube up their nose for a week as their sole means of nutrition. I think the bridezilla trend has officially jumped the shark.

Apparently dieting by tube “has been popular for years in Italy and Spain.” All I can say is that walking around in public with a feeding tube in your nose is hardly in line with the importance Italians place on looking good at all times. They must not leave the house, because people there will give you the stink-eye if you wear last year's shoes.

And imagine how much fun you’ll be at the reception after a week or more of only 800 calories a day! If you don’t get dizzy and pass out after your first glass of champagne, that is. But who cares about dancing and drinking and enjoying yourself with your friends and family at what is supposed to be a celebration of love and one of life’s major milestones. Just as long as you look good in the photos.
