The Tribune's Mary Schmich was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for commentary Monday. The nicely phrased citation hails "her wide range of down-to-earth columns that reflect the character and capture the culture of her famed city."

Here's the full list of winners. Changing times are reflected in the Pulitzers to David Wood of HuffPo (national reporting) and Matt Wuerker of Politico (editorial cartooning), not to mention the feature writing Pulitzer to Eli Sanders of the Stranger, an alt weekly in Seattle that the Reader's always felt particularly close to.

No award was given for fiction—an omission more likely to reflect badly on the process than on the past year's books—or for editorial writing.
