Around Australia in 80 Sips celebrates Australia Day by offering more than 80 Australian wines, including sparkling ones, from 20 regions down under. Artisanal cheeses and charcuterie are also offered. VIP hour 7-8 PM, general admission 8-10 PM, MCA Warehouse, 1747 W. Hubbard, $75 general admission, $125 VIP.

The Spotlight Chef Series, an intimate talk-show-style interview and meal with a local chef, returns with Martial Noguier of Bistronomic. $50 gets you a seat in the audience and a three-course lunch paired with Moet & Chandon champagne. Binny’s Beverage Depot is celebrating the inaugural International Port Day with free port tastings at 12 of its Chicagoland locations (213 W. Grand, 3000 N. Clark, 1720 N. Marcey, Bloomingdale, Downers Grove, Glen Ellyn, Lake Zurich, Naperville, Orland Park, Schaumburg, Saint Charles, and Willowbrook) from 5 to 8 PM. Several varieties of the Portuguese fortified wine will be available to sample.

Former Sox slugger Frank Thomas is launching Big Hurt Beer with an event featuring photo ops, signed souvenir glasses, and of course the first chance to taste the lager. RSVP required. 8:30-11:30 PM, Public House, 400 N. State, 312-265-1240, free.

A rare chance to sample inventively prepared wild game is available today. Gypsy Pop-Up: Game Dinner includes eight courses including antelope tartare, bison carpaccio, duck consommé, wild boar sausage, and fried pheasant and waffles, prepared by chefs Scott Jambrosek (La Sardine) and Oliver Poilevey. 5:30 PM-10 PM, Le Bouchon, 1958 N. There'll be 250 varieties of wine from more than 50 west coast and European vintners available at the Catholic Charities' 11th Annual D’Vine Affair. Bangers & Lace kicks off its new weekly Fried Chicken & Malort Mondays today at 2 pm. $10 gets you some chicken, a Krombacher Pils draft, and a shot of precious Malort, while supplies last.
