Studs Terkel and his friends

Posted By on 11.02.11 at 10:00 AM

It's a good time to remember Studs Terkel, who died three years ago Monday. Video collections make the remembering easy.

The massive Media Burn Independent Video Archive just e-mailed me a heads-up of its Studs Terkel Collection, where you can spend hours watching tributes, profiles, conversations, and interviews he conducted as well as interviews he sat for. Three months after he died he was celebrated at the Cultural Center, and here are highlights of that event. Here's the entire two-hour program.

And, from the Tom Gaudette Archives, here's Studs talking and (mainly) listening to another Chicago icon, community organizer Saul Alinsky.
