Beeri, the Siri-controlled beer bot

This is what happens when tech geeks with extra time on their hands decide they don't want to pour their own beer: they invent another way to get the job done. This particular method doesn't save time or labor, it wastes a lot of beer, and it makes a mess. But by gum, it's inventive. And the video is fun to watch.

To trigger the beer-pouring system, dubbed Beeri, the user tells Siri (the iPhone 4S's voice-activated assistant) to post to Twitter via text. That causes a remote-controlled truck with a can of beer strapped to it to drive into a wall and puncture the can, and the spilled beer is then funneled into a glass below—or at least some of it is.

Video after the jump.
