For everything you need to know about my man — the great Mick Dumke — you got to read this.

It's an interview with Jack Silverstein in his blog readjack.com.

Good job, Jack!

There's a lot of interesting tidbits about Mick's life that you might not have known.

For instance, did you know he studied religion at Northwestern?

It's true. In fact, I can tell you from personal experience that Mick knows his Bible stories. A few years ago, we were talking about this and that and he wound up telling me the parable about Render Unto Caesar.

I put it in a column I wrote for the Washington Independent and everyone thought I was really smart.

For weeks, I had people coming up to me, saying: "Dang, Ben, I didn't know you knew all that stuff about the Bible!"

I'd be like: "Yeah, man, I'm really into all that science, astrology, mysticism, religion and so forth — you dig."

And the whole time I got it from Mick and no one knew.

Heh, heh, heh ....

But back to the interview. My favorite part is where Mick talks about his days as an exotic dancer at a male strip club in Lake Geneva. His nickname was Hot Stuff.

Oh, wait — that's not in the interview. Probably got cut by an editor. You know, that's the thing about editors — they always take the good shit out.

Well, anyway, read the interview. Mick's the man — one of the best reporters in town!
