Now that the heat of summer is finally here, it's time to break out those little summer dresses. The perfect hot-weather dress is affordable, but sturdy enough to hold up to a lot of washings (hint: always let them air-dry!). Et voila, we provide some good options from around the Web.

The stripes trend shows no sign of abating—and why should it? It's cute and classic. Throw on this Max & Mia number, above, over a bathing suit and sandals, or it could go more bohemian with suede boots and a denim jacket ($68 at Nordstrom.com).

Ikat is another long-lived trend. This dress in an indigo print, by California-born designer Rachel Roy ($109 at rachelroy.com), evokes the calm blue of the Pacific. Incidentally, Roy offers a ton of great dresses around this price point—check them out.

More women should wear strapless for everyday—just throw on a jacket for work or wherever modesty demands it. This linen and cotton version from Banana Republic (on sale for $99.99 at bananarepublic.com) is just crying out for a 95-degree day.

Do your preferences for summer run more to sleek sophistication than sweetness and light? This minimalist dress in neutral heather gray by MICHAEL Michael Kors ($89.50 at cusp.com) would look great with cruelly high peep-toe pumps or a summery thong sandal.
