Show us your ... Mold-a-Rama figurine collection

Each week we ask you to show us something. This week it's Jane Hanna's MOLD-A-RAMA FIGURINE COLLECTION. Got something to show us?

Often found at museums and zoos, Mold-A-Rama machines dispense kitschy blow-molded figurines. Popularized in the 60s, the machines are predictably in the midst of a slow extinction, but ex-Reader staffer Jane Hanna, who has over 40 figurines at the moment, is determined to raid as many Mold-A-Ramas as she can: "I obsessively keep track of the Chicago-area machines to see if they've swapped out any of the molds or colors."

Hanna doesn't just stay local, though. She visited the Milwaukee County Zoo last summer to hit up the 13 machines they have there, and also plans on road-tripping it to the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village this summer.

"The burnt crayon smell, the terrifying rattling of the machines, the hand scars incurred from pulling them out of the drip tray too soon . . . does it get any better?"
