Google Page Rank Rap Is the New Trap Rap

Because of rap music's lyrical density and similarities to conversational speech, since its birth it's been used as an educational tool. Rap has tried to teach listeners how to do everything from flipping burgers to cooking up a batch of crack at home. Eventually someone was bound to write a rap song about search engine optimization—or, in non-nerd terms, doing things to make your website look popular on Google.

To actually see a guy rap about SEO, please peep the video after the jump.

If the Reader gave its music critics hiring and firing power—obviously a brilliant idea—I would have SEO Rapper (aka the Poetic Prophet, aka, apparently, Chuck) on our Web team in a heartbeat. I'm dead serious when I say this is probably the first time that anyone's explained something technical like SEO to me in a way that actually sank in deep enough to matter, probably because listening to the explanation didn't make me want to shoot myself in the face. Also, with this guy on the job, no one would ever miss Web-related staff meetings again. He actually does this in real life as a rapping Internet consultant.

Thank you, SEO Rapper! I will try my best to keep an eye on my keyword density in the future!
