At this month’s installment of its Indonesian tasting series, local caterers The Rice Table serve babi pangang (roasted marinated pork in black-bean-soy sauce), oblok oblok kuning (tofu, tempeh, green beans, and peppers in yellow curry), sambal goreng telor (hard-boiled egg in red curry), and more. In honor of its 15th Anniversary, Rock Bottom Brewery sells drafts of a special Belgian-style “Anniversary Ale” for $1.50. Tonight's fete also includes free cake, raffles, and live music. 7-11 PM, Rock Bottom Brewery, 1 W. Grand, 312-755-9339.

Fleming’s highlights the work of female vintners with a four-course Women & Wine dinner. Dishes include butternut squash bisque with Danish blue cheese fondue, paired with Kristin Belair’s Honig Cabernet Sauvignon; and rosemary lamb chops, Parmesan risotto, and maple-roasted parsnips, paired with Janet Myers’s Franciscan Magnificat. 6:30 PM, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, 25 E. Wholesale distributor the Great American Cheese Collection opens the doors of its warehouse for Wine, Beer, BBQ, and Cheese, a tasting of over 100 American cheeses, as well as barbecue, wine, and beer from local debutante Doubleheart Brewing. Both cheese and meat will also be available for purchase at wholesale prices. Proceeds from the event go to the Stop Hunger Foundation. 1-5 PM, 4727 S. Talman, 312-322-5179, $30, $50 per couple.

In collaboration with animal rights group Mercy for Animals, local restaurants unveil new all-veggie menu items during Vegan Week, today through 10/31. Clark Street Dog (3040 N. Clark) introduces a meat-free classic Chicago-style hot dog, Ian’s Pizza (3436 N. Clark) serves spicy seitan taco pizza, Drew's Eatery (2207 W. Montrose) serves vegan hot dogs, sausages, and ice cream, and New York Deli (2921 N. Clark) creates a vegan chicken Parmesan sandwich. 866-352-6446.

The Logan Square Harvest Dinner, a buffet-style meal that raises funds for neighborhood projects like the Logan Square Farmers Market, includes contributions from Lula Cafe, Brand BBQ Market, Belly Shack, and more; a cash bar serves beer and wine. Starting at 9 PM, a concert features music by Furious Frank and Royal Pines. 6 PM, Logan Square Auditorium, 2539 N. Kedzie, 773-489-3222,$50, $40 in advance, $10 for kids under 12, $10 for show only (no dinner).

Death in the Evening features an informal presentation on absinthe and absinthe cocktails paired with a five-course meal from chef Michael McDonald. The menu: mussels with roasted fennel and house-made chorizo, kabocha squash soup, smoked trout salad, seared cod with braised beef cheek, and Seedling Farms apple tart with maple mascarpone and nutmeg ice cream.
