Inspired by this week's cover story (in which Kari Lydersen looks at attempts to clean up or shut down Chicagoland's Chicago's* three massive coal-fired power plants) and Jeff Biggers's Reckoning at Eagle Creek (in which he discusses the long history of "clean coal"), I started delving into the archives of the Tribune.
