Dick Costolo's Improv Years

Novelist and longtime Reader contributor Adam Langer finds an old review of a show featuring Dick Costolo, Feedburner founder and new Twitter CEO (I'm surprised that Twitter has 300 employees, but I don't know what direction I'm surprised in). The Trib had a similarly mixed reaction to Costolo's show.

One thing about Langer's review struck me, as far as the unbroken chain of Chicago life: "Reviewing a show like this is sort of like going to Duk's to review the food . . . ." Up until recently Duk's was the closest place to my apartment to acquire food, and Langer has it about right. It was my go-to place when I was feeling lazy, cheap, and/or sorry for myself. Which is a necessary sort of institution, if you ask me.
