"The Cubic Zirconium Coast"

Posted By on 09.17.10 at 12:17 PM

A Chicago Sojourn takes a look at the Cubic Zirconium Coast, aka Sheridan north of Lake Shore Drive. It's probably too far north for my lazy ass to ever move there, but every time I drive through I'm tempted to check the listings, especially for the Granville Tower.

In other architecture news, Blair Kamin takes an in-depth, critical look at the promising redevelopment of the old U.S. Steel site around 87th and South Shore.

Update: Lynn Becker picks his architectural book of the year, The Complete Architecture of Adler and Sullivan.
