9/11—Free 5K Run/Walk and Kidney Disease Screening

The fifth annual DaVita Kidney Awareness Run/Walk to Burnham Park (3100 S. Lake Shore) takes place tomorrow with registration beginning at 9 AM and opening ceremonies at 10. The run/walk is part of a 10-city series benefiting the Kidney Trust, a not-for-profit that works to reduce the hardships faced by chronic kidney disease sufferers. The Kidney Trust will provide free rapid kidney disease screenings for all participants; family-friendly activities include games, face painting, a bounce house, music, and refreshments. Free with advance registration and $20 with day-of registration. DaVita is a company that provides kidney care services and info.
