Duluth News Times, December 23, 1902. This cautionary tale brought to you as my contribution to National Headache Awareness Month, even though the latter strikes me as one of the most superfluous Awareness Weeks on the National Awareness Calendar. I mean, does anybody out there truly suffer from a headache awareness deficit?

I expect he was trying to say either "Hey, my headache's gone!" or "Ouch!" I hope for his sake it was the former.

The letter is a dead giveaway: This was no accident but a case of covert suicide. Question remains whether Potter took his fatal leap in search of headache relief, or whether the headache was pure pretext.
