Kendall College partners with the Mexican Consulate and ProMexico for Ciclo de Cocina Mexicana, six monthly dinners “celebrating the diversity and gastronomy of Mexico’s great chefs.” The series kicks off tonight with a six-course meal with wine pairings by chefs Guillermo Gonzalez Beristan and Federico Lopez. 7 PM, The Dining Room at Kendall College, 900 N. North Branch, 312-752-2328, $75 including tax and tip.

A six-course dinner at Vie celebrates La Vie d'Une Oie ("The Life of a Goose"), an American wheat ale that the restaurant created with Goose Island Brewing Co. Dishes from chef Paul Virant's menu include pork rillettes with whole-grain mustard, fried pickled wax beans, and crusty bread; rhubarb and roasted beet salad with grilled spring onions, Trader's Point Creamery cottage cheese, and Marcona almonds; and brown butter sponge cake with buttermilk ice cream and strawberries macerated in Goose Island Sofie. All courses are paired with different Goose Island beers, with La Vie d'Une Oie accompanying roasted goose liver. 6:30 PM, 4471 Lawn, Western Springs, 708-246-2082, $70.

Toons Bar and Grill cooks up 800 pounds of little crustaceans for its 11th Annual Crawfish Boil, with other offerings including Muffaletta sandwiches and red beans and rice. The first batch comes out at noon. Noon-3 AM, 3957 N. Southport, 773-935-1919, $25 all-you-can-eat.

With tequila producer Casa Herradura, Nacional 27 hosts an "interactive tequila dinner" that includes a tasting of the spirit, a cocktail-mixing lesson under the instruction of tequila expert Jeronimo Rodriguez, and a tapas menu. Purchase tickets here. 6-9 PM, 325 W. Huron, 312-664-2727, $50.

A performance by saxophonist and composer Scott Burns kicks off Tuesdays on the Terrace, a weekly summer event (through 9/28) in Puck's Cafe at the Museum of Contemporary Art. A buffet accompanies each performance; the theme of tonight's menu is "Chicago," and offerings include tomato-basil penne, BBQ ribs, fried chicken, corn on the cob, and coleslaw. 5:30-8 PM, 220 E. Foodjects: Design + the New Cuisine in Spain, the current exhibition at Instituto Cervantes, showcases dining implements by designers and chefs that highlight “the textures, flavors, contrasts, and aromas of the new Spanish cuisine.” Tonight’s opening includes Spanish hors d’oeuvres paired with sherry and other wines, as well as a discussion of avant-garde cuisine in Spain and a cooking demo by Tim Cottino of Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba. Thu 6/3 at 6 PM, there’s a screening of the documentary A Day at El Bulli, chef Ferran Adriá’s celebrated restaurant. 6 PM, 31 W. Ohio, 312-335-1996.
