Philadelphia Inquirer, June 7, 1891. What were once symptoms of insanity in a railroad man are now the hallmarks of regular CTA service. Though I have to say, it seems highly considerate of a violently deranged engineer to channel his mishegas into excessive stopping and waiting, as opposed to, say, stoking up the boiler till the rivets start to pop and driving full steam ahead toward the vanishing point.
