Dallas Morning News, October 14, 1922. The phrase "air show disaster" is a misnomer: Incidents like the one described here are more accurately described as air show culminations. We in the audience are all spiritual kin to Yosemite Sam in "High Diving Hare"(1949): "I paid my four bits to see the high-divin' act, and I'm-a gonna see the high-divin' act!" Well, people got their money's worth from Miss Eva Moss, stunt flyer, late of Chattanooga.

Personally I do not suffer from paraskevidekatriaphobia. I do, however, make it a rule not to hang from anything by my teeth. I floss pretty regularly too.
It'd be a good idea, I think, if the pilot had a mechanism for releasing the rope ladder from the wing of the plane. Not that good ideas seem to have played much part in this drama.
