Mr. Laski, who had no professional radio experience before filling in at WGN in June, is counting on his persona as a disgraced former insider to bolster a thin on-air résumé.

I can't tell you how many times people ask me how to get a job in journalism. The obvious answer is a combination of hard work, luck, networking, and timing. However, there's another route: get elected, get corrupted, go to jail, and then get your own broadcast show. It's not a betrayal of the social contract, it's a résumé item!

What was that about Broadway Bank again?
