April's edition of The Interview Show, hosted by Mark Bazer, features Steve James* of Hoop Dreams fame—he's out with a new basketball documentary, No Crossover: The Trial of Allen Iverson (which screens 4/6 at Landmark's Century Centre and 4/13 on ESPN). Also on the bill: local-MC-made-good Kid Sister; Brian Dickie of Chicago Opera Theater (which is presenting Frederica von Stade's** final Chicago concert); and sketch comedy by Laura On Laura (aka Barrel of Monkeys' Laura Grey and Laura McKenzie).

Friday 4/2, 6:30-8:00pm, Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave. 773-227-4433 or 866-468-3401, $5

After the jump: alderman/Cook County Board presidential candidate Toni Preckwinkle from last month's Interview Show.

* While we're on the subject of Kartemquin filmmakers, Prisoner of Her Past, about Trib jazz critic Howard Reich, his Holocaust-survivor mother, and late-onset PTSD, screens 4/11 at the Siskel.

** The first opera singer I ever heard.
