Chicago artist Geoff Bevington and cartoonist Phil Yeh, creators of Steve the Dog & the Winged Tiger, billed as "a beautifully illustrated children's book that showcases the city of Chicago and demonstrates the importance of engaging with the world and people around you," stop by Open Books at 213 W. Institute Place this weekend to paint a mural on one of the nonprofit's bookstore walls.

Fans can help with the effort Friday and Saturday, March 19 and 20, from 11 AM to 5 PM.

Yeh also reads from Steve the Dog & the Winged Tiger at Open Books' children's story time program on Saturday at 11 AM.
