Dark Lord Day Tickets (Probably) Go on Sale Today

Three Floyds is continuing the "golden ticket" system it implemented last year to control the crowds at its insanely popular Dark Lord Day—the one day of the year to buy its Dark Lord beer, available only at the brewpub—which allows only people who've bought a ticket to buy Dark Lord (DLD is Saturday, April 24). The ticketless can still attend the event, which features bands a lots of other beers, they just can't buy Dark Lord. Tickets are $10 apiece, with a limit of two per person; how many bottles they'll allow you to buy has yet to be determined but last year it was four. Proceeds from the ticket sales go to the Anti-Cruelty Society.

This year's Dark Lord Day site doesn't give much definite information, but it does say that ticket sales will be announced first on Twitter, and earlier today they tweeted: "After work we'll put the pot of golden tickets at the end of your rainbow." If you want tickets, it'd be advisable to follow @3floyds on Twitter and keep a close eye on it around the end of the day. Then expect mayhem as everyone rushes to buy a ticket; last year they went on sale around 4 AM and were still sold out within a few hours.
